The new 2017 Class Rules are now available. They don't take effect until May 1 but that isn't too far away. Measurers should also go looking on the the IOM ICA website and find the new version of forms needed for the Certification process. Go to the CAN IOM Documents under Links & Documents to find the rules and the measurement forms are at http://www.iomclass.org/ .

Back at the end of December I ordered a suit of "A" sails ftom Jake. He told me then that he had had health issues - a stroke and a car accident - earlier in the year but was now on the mend and getting back to work. Since then I have not been able to contact him. I don't have my sails, but am not worried about that as I can get my money back through his payment service. I would like to know if he is OK, or if he has had more health problems. Anyone have any news?

Hey, it's time to get that boat ready for the second installment of the Coastal Cup. Let Stan know you are coming, bring your series entry fee and get on up to Long Lake on April 22

There is a list of categories at the top right of this page. It is a good idea to choose at least one of those categories for each main posting as it lets everyone else zero in on previous postings that may have slipped off the first page. You don't have to scroll for hours to find old postings. There is a category for each CRYA Region now so if folks in those regions want to use this space to communicate items that are particular to their area (regular sail dates, events being thought about, etc.) they can be more easily found. If this site ever gets busy, it is conceivable that even recent listings could slip off the front page.

If you haven't seen it any where else this is a link to the video that was shot on our trip to Port Alberni. It shows the lack of wind but also does give a little flavor of what an event looks like and some good RC sailing background in a few interviews.

You are seeing this site for the first time and want to be able to post, you need to "join". Not many restrictions on joining.
The main one is to use your real name. Most clever names aren't and in this environment everyone shoudl know who is posting.
All you have to do is request to join and tell me who you are and where you are. If it is suspicious then XXX otherwise you will be pretty quickly.

Those of you with a Facebook account might want to check out this link:
I think the idea is to have us all on the same page, rather then fragmented.

As the headline says, this week's racing will be of the informal kind, bring whatever you sail to the lake and have a go. The spring series will resume the following Sunday, starting with a brief BF discussion before the racing begins around 1:00. Watch the blog for any updates.

The start of a new series and the last chance to tune up before Beaver Fever. We'll continue the series until conditions at the lake dictate otherwise, hopefully we can race into June.
Start time is 1:00, if we're all tuned and ready to go a bit earlier, then we'll get a head start on the afternoon's racing.

Last race of the series, the weather looks somewhat promising with both breeze and sunshine forecast...although that forecast is subject to change.
Very close between the top three spots, should make for a very interesting day's sailing.
